Welcome to Saturdays ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"). Saturdays is a mortality-awareness and wellness application that helps you reflect on the time you have by estimating remaining Saturdays based on life-expectancy data and tracking daily health habits.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Saturdays iOS application. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
When using the App, you may voluntarily provide the following:
Personal profile data: your date of birth, biological sex (used solely for actuarial life-expectancy calculations), country of residence, and display name or nickname.
Health and lifestyle data: information related to your health habits and lifestyle factors, including but not limited to body mass index (BMI) or the height and weight used to calculate it, exercise frequency and type, smoking status, alcohol consumption habits, sleep duration and quality, and other wellness-related inputs you choose to provide.
Family member data: if you use the App's family and relationship features, you may enter limited information about other people, such as names or nicknames of family members (e.g., parents, children, spouse, or partner), their dates of birth, their relationship to you, and their biological sex (for life-expectancy estimates).
Apple Health data (optional, read-only): if — and only if — you explicitly connect Apple Health from the App's Settings, the App reads a limited set of metrics from Apple HealthKit: resting heart rate, exercise minutes, sleep analysis, VO₂ Max, step count, and body-measurement data used to derive BMI. This data is read solely to refine your Saturday estimate and display a confidence range around it, is processed and stored only on your device, and is never transmitted off your device. The App never writes any data to Apple Health. See Section 7.4 for details.
We want to be clear about what we do not do:
All data you enter into Saturdays is stored exclusively on your device using iOS local storage mechanisms (such as UserDefaults, Core Data, or on-device databases). Your data never leaves your device through the App.
Your data is protected by the security features built into your iOS device, including device passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, and iOS data encryption at rest. We recommend keeping your device's security features enabled to protect your data.
If you use iCloud Backup or iTunes/Finder backup for your device, your Saturdays data may be included in that backup. These backups are governed by Apple's privacy policy and your own backup settings, not by this Privacy Policy. You can manage your backup preferences through your device's Settings.
We use the information you provide solely for the following purposes:
We do not use your data for any purpose other than providing the App's core functionality as described above.
We do not share your personal information with any third party. Period. Because all data is stored locally on your device, we have no access to it and no ability to share it.
If you choose to use the App's sharing feature to share a reveal image, that sharing is performed through your device's native share sheet (e.g., Messages, email, social media). Once you share content through these channels, that content is governed by the privacy policies of the respective platforms you share to. We encourage you to review those policies.
Because we do not collect or have access to your data, we cannot respond to legal requests for user data. Your data exists only on your device.
As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, Saturdays does not integrate with, send data to, or receive data from any third-party service, SDK, API, analytics platform, advertising network, or cloud service.
If we ever introduce third-party services in a future version of the App, we will update this Privacy Policy before those changes take effect, clearly disclose what data would be shared and with whom, and, where required by law, obtain your affirmative consent before any data is transmitted to third parties. We will notify you of material changes through the App or through the App Store update notes.
Saturdays is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App's content involves mortality awareness and life-expectancy calculations, which may not be appropriate for young children.
In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA): we do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13. Because the App does not transmit data from the device and does not create accounts, no child data is collected by us. If a child under 13 uses the App on their own device, all data remains local to that device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used the App, you can delete all App data by uninstalling the App or using the in-app data-deletion feature described in Section 8.
We recommend that parents and guardians review the App's content before allowing minors between 13 and 17 to use it. The App's themes of mortality and life expectancy may benefit from parental context and conversation.
The App stores health-related information that you voluntarily provide — including lifestyle factors such as exercise habits, smoking and drinking status, sleep patterns, and BMI-related data — locally on your device. We do not collect, receive, or transmit it. This data is used solely, on-device, to adjust life-expectancy estimates and is not diagnostic, clinical, or medical in nature.
The health-related data you enter into Saturdays is self-reported lifestyle information, and the data optionally read from Apple Health consists of consumer wellness metrics. Neither is medical data, clinical health records, or protected health information (PHI) as defined under HIPAA. The App does not access electronic health records or any clinical data source, and its estimates are not diagnostic, clinical, or medical in nature.
We do not share, sell, or disclose your health-related data — whether self-reported or read from Apple Health — to any third party, including insurers, employers, data brokers, or advertisers. Your health-related data never leaves your device through the App.
Saturdays offers an optional integration with Apple HealthKit. It is off by default and activates only when you tap "Connect Apple Health" in the App's Settings and grant permission through Apple's own HealthKit authorization sheet, where you control access for each data type individually.
Your data is retained on your device for as long as you have the App installed and choose to keep your data. We do not retain any copy of your data on any server or external system.
You can delete all of your Saturdays data at any time by using the "Delete All Data" option within the App's Settings screen, which permanently erases all data stored by the App on your device, or by uninstalling the App, which removes all locally stored App data.
Because your data is stored only on your device and we do not maintain any backup or copy, deleted data cannot be recovered by us. Please be sure you want to delete your data before doing so.
If you are a California resident, you have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act:
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary to provide the App's functionality.
If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the GDPR:
Legal basis for processing: to the extent any processing occurs, it is based on your consent (which you provide by voluntarily entering data) and the legitimate interest of providing the App's core functionality. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your data. Given the local-only nature of the App, we have not appointed a formal Data Protection Officer; for GDPR-related inquiries, contact us using the information in Section 13.
We respect privacy rights under all applicable laws. If you are located in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights not addressed above, please contact us using the information in Section 13, and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Saturdays does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or any other tracking identifier. Because we do not engage in any tracking, the App does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt. Our App Store privacy nutrition label accurately reflects that we collect no data.
While we do not transmit or store your data externally, we take reasonable measures to protect the data stored locally on your device through the App, including using iOS-native secure storage APIs, not logging or caching sensitive data in plaintext, and following Apple's recommended practices for local data storage. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to protect your device with a strong passcode and keep your iOS version up to date.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or through the App Store update notes. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where superseded by applicable federal law (such as COPPA) or international law (such as GDPR) that provides you with greater protections.
